When everyone is with their significant others,

When your staying up late,

And tossing and turning,

When your wondering why you still haven’t had

A happily ever after,

When you know your worth it,

But get played by your lovers,

Numbness follows,

Coldness piles up,

Statements of pain,

Every word hard to swallow,

Falling back because to feel is too much to hold on to,

Easier to avoid it,

Then to commit to,

Trust issues,

False envisions,

Words of no intent,

Hallow before tomorrow,

Staring at white walls,

Images of mirage bliss,

Heart and mind in sync,

To understand that all lie,

No more tears to cry,

Not interested in what hides,

Just looking and hoping,

For someone to bring the soul back to life,

People pleasing in the meantime,

Frozen from living your life,

Identity unknown now,

Even your mirror image can’t recognize ya,

You won’t lie,

It’s hard at times,

How can you make yourself happy,

When there’s no longer happiness that resides….
